These paintings don't set out to depict something. They set out to let something arrive.

Color builds, moves, opens — and somewhere inside it, a shape, a light, a pulse finds its way through.

I don't decide what emerges. I paint until it does.

People who live with these pieces often say the same thing, in different words:

the painting doesn't just hang there. It stays with them.

It shifts depending on the day. It feels, as one collector put it, like a wise companion in the room.

You don't need to know how a piece was made to feel that. You only need to stand in front of it.
